Dr. Rosemarie Torres Brings an Artistic Element to Her Dental Work

Dr. Rosemarie Torres was born in Bakersfield, CA, and raised in Orlando, FL. She is bilingual in English and Spanish, thanks to her parents, who are originally from Puerto Rico. Growing up, she always had a passion for drawing and painting, as well as medicine. Throughout college, she further developed these skills by taking advanced art classes alongside her science courses. Ultimately, she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Florida.

During her undergraduate years, Dr. Torres met her husband, Dr. Raul Perez. Together they pursued their passion for dentistry at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. Dr. Torres’s husband is currently the chief resident at the UF Periodontics program.

Throughout her dental school journey, Dr. Torres demonstrated a strong commitment to community service. Her dedication was recognized with the International College of Dentists Student Humanitarian award and the Student National Dental Association Leadership and Community Service award. Additionally, she made significant contributions to dental research, co-authoring two published articles and graduating from the University of Florida College of Dentistry with research honors. Her professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Torres and her husband enjoy spending time with their 6-year old dog Mia, kayaking in local springs, and going for bike rides. She continues to nurture her love for drawing and painting, adding a touch of creativity and artistry to her dental work.
